The world of work and income is changing rapidly. Its future is shaped by trends in technology, demography, environmental pressure and changing power. The Coronavirus pandemic is putting further pressure on employment, particularly for young people.

If shifts in work and income are not properly addressed, it will increase the inequalities young women and men already face.

But we can influence the future!

The policy choices we make today will determine the impact on inequality, especially for youth tomorrow. We therefore need to involve young people today in shaping their own future and that of the larger society.

One empowering way to enable this, is through Transformative Scenario Planning. Reflecting together on research findings and using our collective wisdom, we will create scenarios and strategies to influence the future of work.

Oxfam has already done this in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Pakistan with young people, civil society, private sector, governments and other organizations. Facilitated by young people from these countries we now want to do this with you!
